Art is a universal language and one more way to communicate with the world. As an artist and an art educator, I use the visual language of art to reach out to others. Art making is the creative spark that ties me to the human experience, and teaching others ways to access their own creative spark is my true mission.
Cheryl Evans is a producing artist and art educator. She received her BFA at Stephen F. Austin State University where she concentrated on drawing and painting and began her long love affair with watercolor. She received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Houston Clear Lake. She was named Art Educator of the Year in 2012 by Texas Art Education Association. She spent 32 years teaching in the public school system and continues to teach watercolor at Alvin Community College. Evans has also taught in the Community Bridge program at the Museum of Fine Arts – Houston Glassell School of Art and was a contributing author of the state adopted art textbook, “Art Talk”. She is active in the Texas Art Education Association, having served as President, as well as being named a Distinguished Fellow of TAEA. Evans is passionate about sharing her work and knowledge in workshops and demonstrations. She is a signature member of the Watercolor Art Society- Houston, and continues to show and exhibit in Texas, nationally, and internationally. Her work is in numerous public, corporate, and private collections the United States, Norway, England, Mexico, and Japan.

Livingston Art League is a member of the Lone Star Art Guild and adheres to the LSAG guidelines pertaining to artist divisions and art categories. LAL has at least one judged art show and one workshop a year. Our membership's skill levels vary from beginner through professional and represent a wide range of artistic interests. If you are an Artist, used to be an Artist, or would like to be an Artist come and join us as we encourage each other to improve our skills and develop our creativity.
